The Pro account

There's a single Pro account type — no coach tier vs organizer tier. Upgrading from a Personal account keeps everything you have (players, history, ratings) and unlocks the Pro toolkit. During setup you pick which of the three roles you want; you can add or drop roles later.

• Lessons (coach) — publish lesson listings into city/county zones, take bookings on your calendar, run recurring classes, collect reviews.
• Tournaments (organizer) — host tournaments and self-scheduled virtual leagues in your own custom zones, with entry fees collected at registration. You run the draw and report the scores.
• Community (club owner) — create private clubs: members-only zones with their own ladders, boards, and events, with an optional monthly club fee paid to you.

Coach credentials gate lessons only.To publish a lesson listing you must complete the coach profile — USTA certification info, NTRP playing level, years of experience, and at least one specialty ticked from each sport's list (players filter the coach finder on exactly those) — plus a photo and a bio. Until it's complete, the publish button tells you what's missing and points you to Pro setup.

Running tournaments or a club needs no credentials — just an active Pro account. (TFL doesn't vet or certify coaches; your credentials are shown to players as-is, alongside your reviews.)

• Free to join. Free to list.There's no Pro Platform fee and no per-listing charge — publish unlimited lesson listings, run paid tournaments, and create clubs at no cost.
• TFL keeps 10% of lesson and Play With Pro payments, and club membership fees, only when a student or member actually pays through TFL. Tournament entries are 7%; creating a tournament and free entries cost nothing.
• Prefer to collect payment yourself? The Direct Pay plan ($29/mo) lets you take lesson and Play With Pro payments directly — nothing owed to TFL on what you collect that way.
• Subsidized player seats— your added players' TFL memberships are billed to you as seats at Pro rates (from about $4/player/month on the annual plan — cheaper than what players pay on their own). No seat minimum — add a seat only for a player you actually manage.

You set your own prices for everything you sell — lesson rates, entry fees, club fees. Current seat prices are always shown live on the Pro pricing section.

Player payments flow through Stripe to your own connected account — lesson fees when you accept a booking, tournament entry fees when players register, club fees monthly. Set payouts up once from Platform & payouts: Stripe's hosted onboarding collects your details, and afterwards the same page links to your Stripe dashboard for balances and payout history.

Lesson packages pay out per lesson, not all at once.A single booking pays you the moment it's accepted, same as always. A multi-lesson package is different: the student is charged the full package price up front, but TFL holds that money and pays you out one lesson at a time, as each is confirmed complete (by you and the student, or automatically 48 hours after you mark it complete if the student doesn't respond). Finish out a package on schedule and you're paid its discounted per-lesson rate for every session, same as the student paid for. If a package ends early instead — the student cancels, a dispute is filed, anything that stops it short — the discount is no longer earned, so you're paid your normal, full per-lesson rate for the lessons you actually taught, and the student is refunded the rest. Either way you never end up paid less than the pro-rated value of what you delivered.

Taxes: Stripe generates, delivers, and files your 1099-K when your volume requires one — TFL doesn't handle tax forms by hand.

You can schedule a downgrade any time; it takes effect at your next renewal so you keep what you paid for. Be aware of what winds down when it lands:

• Your lesson listings are cancelled (not paused).
• Your custom zones — including clubs — are deactivated.
• Your open tournaments are cancelled and registrants notified.

Re-upgrading later gives you the Pro toolkit back, but cancelled listings and events don't automatically resume — you'll recreate what you need.
